Social Worker - Localities

Location: London Borough of Sutton
Rate: £38.50 per hour
Hybrid Working 3 days in the office

The Localities Team in Sutton is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to support children and families using a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach. Sutton s practice model is built on trauma-informed and restorative social work, aiming to empower families while ensuring children's safety and well-being.

As a Social Worker in the Localities Team, you will:

• Manage a caseload of children and families under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings.
• Work within Sutton s Restorative Practice framework, supporting families to make sustainable changes.
• Undertake Section 47 Child Protection investigations and contribute to strategy discussions.
• Develop and review Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, ensuring interventions are proportionate and effective.
• Work closely with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, and early help services, to coordinate support for children.
• Attend court when required, preparing high-quality reports and evidence for proceedings.
• Support children on the edge of care, working to prevent family breakdown where possible.

• A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Experience working within safeguarding, assessment, or locality teams.
• Strong knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings.
• An understanding of Sutton s practice model, including Restorative Practice and Trauma-Informed approaches.
• The ability to work collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals.
