Transport Coordinator
- Location: Deal, Dover
- Salary: £40,000 per annum (Subject to experience)
- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm; occasional Saturdays for inspections etc.)
Our clients located in Deal are seeking a Transport Coordinator to join their dynamic team. This role involves organising the day-to-day planning of HGVs within the UK and Europe, ensuring efficient operation and excellent service delivery.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Organise the daily planning and routing of 14 HGV vehicles across the UK and Europe.
- Price jobs and provide quotations to clients.
- Manage driver paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor daily activities, solve problems, and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and suppliers.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Manage drivers focusing on fuel efficiency and compliance with regulations.
- Handle custom procedures for Import/Export/GVMS, create GMRs, and send import security information to various customs agencies.
- Schedule and oversee deliveries and collections.
- Conduct cab inspections and manage inventories.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in planning HGVs.
- Good knowledge of Tacho laws and Driver Hours legislation.
- Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of export and import pricing.
- Proficient with computers and possess good geographical knowledge.
- Forklift experience is ideal but not mandatory.
