We are currently working with a specialist school in Reading that provides therapy-focused support for children aged 5 to 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Specialist to join their supportive team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience working alongside experienced SEN practitioners and therapists.

This position is perfect for individuals aiming to build a career in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health. As an SEN Specialist, you'll support children with Autism, behavioural challenges, sensory processing needs, and communication difficulties. Many students also face co-occurring mental health conditions, making this role particularly suitable for those with an interest in psychology or therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with therapists and external professionals.
• Provide tailored support to students with complex needs.
• Facilitate personalised learning to help students achieve academic and personal milestones.
• Display a genuine passion for working with children or in Mental Health.
• Maintain a calm, adaptable, and proactive approach in challenging situations.

This opportunity is ideal for graduates looking to gain experience in education or those with an interest in Psychology or SEN. Prior experience is welcome but not essential-qualifications such as a Degree, Level 3 certification, or relevant experience are advantageous.

Position Details:

• Role: SEN Specialist
• Location: Reading
• Salary: 83 - 95 per day (based on experience, training, and qualifications)
• Contract: Long-term temporary with potential for permanent placement
• Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
• Experience: Beneficial but not required
