Kitchen Assistant

Rota Support is recruiting for a part time Kitchen Assistant to work on a permanent basis at one of it's clients, which is a residential care home for the elderly, located in Abberton, Colchester in Essex.

The position is offering 12.51 per hour and consists of a two week rolling rota, which includes Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays one week and Thursdays and Fridays the next week. Shift patterns are from 07.00-14.00.

No previous experience of working in a care home is necessary, however, it would be useful. Previous experience of assisting in a workplace kitchen is preferred though.

This position would be ideal for somebody looking for an introduction to working in care, as career progression into a healthcare assistant role could be possible. You must be caring, empathetic and patient, due to the nature of clients in this environment.

Duties will include the following;

• Making and serving breakfast to residents (Cereal, porridge and toast)
• Running the washing up through the dishwasher and putting cutlery and dishes away
• Completing moring tea trolley round
• Adding food and fluid intake to the electronic system for each resident
• Cleaning kitchen areas as per the schedule
