Job Requirements/Description

Learning & Participation Manager

Join one of the world's leading contemporary music ensembles and help inspire the next generation of music-makers. The London Sinfonietta is dedicated to reaching as many people as possible with the inspiring sound of new music. Our world-class projects and performances engage with today's society, involving and inspiring individuals, audiences, communities and artists.

As Learning & Participation Manager, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the organisation's work with schools, community groups, young musicians and composers, and adult public participants. You will have significant creative freedom to design projects that help people explore new music in meaningful, accessible and exciting ways. Working closely with the Chief Executive & Artistic Director and colleagues, you'll ensure the programme aligns with our mission, business priorities and funding relationships, reaching the places and communities where we can make the greatest impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering the organisation's work with schools, community groups, young musicians & composers, and adult public participants
  • Designing and shaping creative projects with significant autonomy, ensuring they fit with the organisation's mission, business priorities and funding relationships
  • Identifying areas and communities where the London Sinfonietta can make the greatest positive difference
  • Line managing freelance project workers
  • Collaborating closely with all departments across the organisation to ensure effective, joined-up project delivery
  • Contributing to strategic discussions about the future direction and evolution of the Learning & Participation programme
  • Gaining hands-on experience across marketing, fundraising, production and planning as part of a small and dedicated team

This is a key post for someone looking to make a tangible impact within a creative, mission-driven organisation, and to work on projects and performances that are distinctive within the UK cultural landscape.
Contract: Full-time.
