We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Female PE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Southend-on-Sea on a maternity cover basis.

This role will commence after the Easter holidays (April 2026) and run until January 2027, teaching PE across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Inspire students to develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong interest in physical activity
• Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and participation
• Work collaboratively within the PE department and wider school community

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• UK secondary school teaching experience is essential
• Ability to teach PE across KS3 and KS4
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A positive, energetic, and professional approach
