Project Director - Joinery Specialist - Chelmsford Region - Car Allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Director to join a renowned joinery business based in the Chelmsford region. This role will involve managing and directing contracts to completion within the Project Departments and supporting the Contracts Director. The position offers a dynamic environment, with responsibilities split between the Chelmsford head office and project sites.

The ideal Project Director will oversee multiple high-value joinery and construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will be expected to lead teams, develop business opportunities, and drive profitability across your division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the direction, management, and coordination of all ongoing projects
• Oversee project performance, ensuring all projects meet deadlines, quality, and financial targets
• Work closely with senior management and reporting teams, providing leadership and driving operational improvements
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and project managers
• Ensure all projects adhere to industry legislation, standards, and best practices
• Monitor and report on profit and loss for your division, driving profit maximization
• Lead the recruitment, development, and performance management of your team

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Project Director in the joinery, construction, or manufacturing industry
• Strong background in managing complex projects and leading high-performing teams
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets, sales forecasting, and P&L
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of joinery manufacturing and production processes and construction industry standards
• A management qualification or equivalent experience
