Estimator

Our client a South East London based Designer, Supplier, and Installer of Glazing products currently seek a Commercial Estimator to join their operations team in Dartford, Kent.

They offer the UK a turnkey service (consulting, design, value engineering, and installation) of bespoke glazing systems to commercial clients.

The Role:

The role of Commercial Estimator is to work very closely with our Commercial Installation, Sales and Estimating team. You will be responsible for providing detailed cost estimates to our commercial clients. Working closely with our Sales team with proposals, tracking cost, understanding specifications, and calculating the final budget for each project.

This position plays a key role in securing projects and ensuring business success through accurate and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans and specifications to develop accurate estimates.
• Create detailed cost estimates for commercial clients
• Making calls to potential clients to follow up on estimates, and providing necessary support to any questions they may have
• Calculate costs for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Prepare detailed proposals and present them to clients.
• Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates and track bid performance.

Qualifications:

• Experience using CAD would be an advantage.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in Glazing or construction sectors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with clients, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in estimating tools/software
• Ability to ensure the accuracy of estimates and prevent costly mistakes
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

This is a permanent position and the role has come about due to retirement of the current Estimator.
