Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering high-quality support to students with special educational needs (SEN) across the curriculum.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalized learning plans for students.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them to engage fully in lessons and activities.
- Adapt and modify learning resources to meet the individual needs of students.
- Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioral development, ensuring their well-being.
- Help manage classroom behavior and encourage positive learning behaviors.
- Monitor and track student progress, reporting feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding student progress.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable.
- Compassionate, patient, and nurturing attitude with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to a range of individual needs and learning styles.
- Understanding of child development and special educational needs is an advantage.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred but not essential.
- A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
