A civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer on a freelance basis. Role Overview:

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality, regulatory, and technical standards. Working closely with site teams, designers, and subcontractors, this role will oversee inspections, compliance checks, and quality documentation to maintain consistency and adherence to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensuring all works comply with industry regulations, project requirements, and best practices.
• Inspection & Testing: Conducting site inspections, reviewing materials, and overseeing quality checks throughout the construction process.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining quality records, compiling reports, and ensuring accurate document control.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identifying, investigating, and addressing non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaising with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to promote a quality-first approach.
• Audits & Continuous Improvement: Supporting internal and external audits while driving improvements in quality processes and procedures.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualifications: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Industry Experience: Strong background in quality engineering within infrastructure, civil engineering, or major construction projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, quality control procedures, and relevant construction regulations.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve quality issues efficiently.
• Communication & Collaboration: Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and promoting a culture of quality and compliance.
