Job Purpose
Our maintenance and repairs team have been appointed to provide a planned and reactive maintenance service to our NHS client. As part of this maintenance role, you will provide repairs to a busy healthcare site in Homerton, London. There will be a particular emphasis on plumbing maintenance and repairs but the ideal candidate would be willing and have the ability to get involved in a variety of other general building maintenance tasks.
This role will see the successful candidate undertake works including reactive and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance). Works could include leak detection/repair, replacement pipeworks, water temperature checks, plant room/boiler room checks, flushing, servicing and/or replacement of thermostatic mixer valves, water sampling and much more.
Normal working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
The role is based on a static site, however, from time to time, you may be asked to attend other local sites. In this event, you will be provided with a pool van in order to attend these sites, when on-call and for the collection of materials as needed.
The role provides a very diverse range of activities and as such will provide a great opportunity to use a wide range of skills.
Experience Required
Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS (or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS). That said this is by no means essential and candidates with experience of providing planned/reactive maintenance in a commercial/education environment (such as hotels, supermarkets, schools etc) will also be considered.
The successful candidate will hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in plumbing and be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, be used to working within strict procedures to maintain safety and have excellent customer/communication skills.
This is a genuinely diverse role with excellent scope for personal development. If you have the above skills and experience, we'd strongly encourage you to apply.
