Location: Homebased - with the flexibility to travel to give face to face training
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Counselling Services Training Lead to develop and coordinate training delivery to industry professionals on the mental health impact of sight loss. This role is crucial in creating awareness and building counselling capacity to support individuals affected by sight loss.
Main duties:
- Coordinate and deliver training to a range of professionals (counsellors, nurses, teachers) on the mental health impact of sight loss.
- Maintain a clinical counselling caseload of 5 clients per week, conduct 2 assessments, and perform 2 Mental Health Wellbeing Check-ins.
- Develop a robust strategy to ensure maximum attendance at training courses.
- Collaborate with the Project and Accreditation Officer to ensure a first-class trainee experience and timely issuance of certificates.
- Provide accurate and accessible information/training materials to trainees and clients.
- Engage with active clients and manage service efficiency.
- Develop links with other professionals and respond to enquiries about online emotional support services.
- Lead the development and delivery of promotional activities.
- Work with the Sight Loss Counselling Service Manager to develop volunteering opportunities.
- Participate in service development, monitoring, and evaluation.
Essential skills and qualifications required:
- A recognised 3-year Diploma level Counselling qualification or equivalent, with experience working with people online.
- Registration on a PSA recognised register and membership of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering training on psychological/emotional impacts of life-changing conditions.
- Knowledge of various counselling approaches and services.
- Ability to manage a clinical counselling caseload and maintain information systems.
