Summary

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their school experience? We're looking for a dedicated and organised Student Services Officer to join our vibrant community at Harris Invictus Academy Croydon.

As our Student Services Officer, you'll be at the heart of our school's daily operations. Based in the Student Services office, you'll provide a warm and professional front-of-house experience while delivering vital administrative and medical support. You'll work closely with key staff, including the DDSL and SENCO, to ensure our students receive the care and attention they need to thrive.


Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with medical needs by maintaining accurate records and ensuring care plans are up to date and approved by the Academy Nurse
  • Organising and minuting meetings for students receiving additional support, liaising with external agencies and staff
  • Managing the Student Reception area, offering a calm and supportive presence for students throughout the day
  • Assisting with uniform compliance, including logging incidents and contacting home when necessary
  • Administering first aid and assessing student medical needs
  • Issuing passes (toilet, medical, lunch, lift) and managing lost property and temporary uniform supplies
  • Using BromCom to access student information and run reports
  • Supporting students attending off-site or respite provision with communication and documentation
Qualifications & Experience

You will be someone who thrives in a busy school environment, with a calm, approachable manner and a genuine desire to support young people. You will also bring:

  • A relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • At least two years' experience in a school or educational setting
  • Strong ICT skills and confidence using systems like BromCom
  • Experience managing meetings, preparing documentation and working to deadlines
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and working with vulnerable students
  • First aid training (or willingness to undertake it)
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and excellent communication skills
