Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities within a secondary school setting.
• Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Assist in the classroom, adapting materials and activities according to student needs.
• Encourage and support students' academic, social, and personal development.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Facilitate small group activities and one-to-one support sessions.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN setting.
• Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a resilient attitude.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
