We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and inclusive school in Hounslow. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in providing high-quality support to our teachers and students, ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality classroom support to teachers across various subjects, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with additional learning needs (SEND).
- Lead small group sessions or 1:1 interventions to support pupils' academic progress and personal development.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, adapting materials and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
- Help in the delivery of specific educational programmes, working closely with teachers to monitor students progress.
- Support in the assessment and evaluation of pupils' work, providing feedback and guidance to improve their learning.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment, promoting engagement, participation, and independence.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to create and implement tailored support plans for students.
- Supervise students during non-teaching times such as break times or lunchtimes, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Essential Requirements: - Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in supporting teaching and learning.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEND), in a school environment.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children to access it effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students' academic and emotional needs.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing classroom dynamics.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications/Skills: - Experience in leading small groups or providing 1:1 interventions.
- Knowledge of specific learning needs such as dyslexia, autism, or speech and language difficulties.
- First aid qualification (or willingness to complete).
