Position: Support Worker

Contract: Specified hours 32.5 hours per week , Permanent

Salary: Grade 4: starting salary of £35,750 p.a. incl. of London Weighting

This is an office-based role, working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.30pm in the Region s Hayes office: 213 Church Road, Hayes, Middlesex UB3 2LG.

The London Region is currently seeking applications for a Support Worker to support the work of the Region s Recruitment, Organising and Campaigning agenda. This is an exciting role, where you will be responsible for assisting with the administration and support needs of the Region s officers and day-to-day work of the Hayes office, as well as working closely and collaboratively with the wider regional team, to ensure a smooth and efficient running of all regional business.

This is a dynamic role that will allow the successful candidates to be actively involved in all areas of the region s activities, including supporting the teams out on demonstrations and campaigns, and taking a leading role in handling all aspects of the office team s social media activity.

The successful candidate will:

• Possess a flexible attitude and a full range of administrative and organisational skills as outlined in the job description
• Be able to work on their own initiative to undertake duties in a professional and efficient manner
• Have an understanding of the GMB, other Trade Unions as well as commitment to the wider Trade Union and Labour Movement.

• Be a strong multi-tasker
• Be flexible and adaptable
• Possess strong IT skills

Other Information

• The successful candidates may on occasions be expected to travel to other locations in the Region in the event of absences for cover purposes.
• Candidates should be comfortable with occasional lone working, as there will be times that the successful candidate will be only person present in the office.
