The School and Role

This Specialist Secondary School, part of a Multi-Academy Trust based in Wickford are seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with moderate and severe learning difficulties. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be working with students with varying mental health needs as well as additional learning needs. You will be working with students in the specialist classrooms, therapy rooms and sensory rooms. This school offers a holistic learning environment to teach students a range of life skills, equipped with a swimming pool, music studio, animal carte shelters and art rooms. The provision also provides the students with a nurturing and calming environment for them to thrive in. SEND Teaching Assistants at this school must be prepared to support students not just in the classroom, but outside as well using the facilities to teach academic skills, life skills and social skills. Seeking SEND Teaching Assistants with resilience, confidence and a warm personality who can provide expert guidance to students with Autism, ADHD, PMLD and physical disabilities.

Requirements

The desired SEND Teaching Assistant will have;

• Experience working with students with learning and physical disabilities.
• Relevant childcare training or equivalent qualifications.
• Dedication to ensuring students of all abilities receive access to quality education.
• A passion for supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable students.
