An established and welcoming primary school in the heart of Lambeth is seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Officer to join their team this April. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong financial administration experience to play a key role in supporting the smooth running of school operations.

The Role
As Finance Officer, you will be working collaboratively with the Office Manager, School Business Manager, and Finance Manager, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school. Your role will cover a wide range of finance-related tasks and administrative duties.


This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Managing and supporting key school finance procedures, including invoicing, payments, and budget tracking
  • Accurately processing purchase orders and invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintaining oversight of stock control, ordering supplies, and monitoring deliveries
  • Using a range of systems including SIMS, FMS, Excel, and Xero previous experience with all is highly desirable
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures, supporting the Finance Manager with financial reports and audits
  • Supporting wider administrative tasks where needed, including cross-team communication and documentation
  • Occasionally working across different school sites within the federation when required

You may occasionally be required to support at a nearby partner school within the federation, so flexibility is welcomed.

  • Recent experience in schools finance (ideally SBM level in LA maintained schools)
  • Experience using Xero
  • Be extremely organised in finance
  • Have a friendly and calm approach
  • Be available on a full-time basis
