Senior Materials Buyer - Construction Industry

We are recruiting on behalf of a modern, forward-thinking, and award-winning construction company with a proud heritage dating back to the 19th century. The company continues to thrive across Kent.

Position Overview:
The organisation is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Materials Buyer to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time, office-based role located in Folkestone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure materials, equipment, and plant while negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.
• Attend site meetings to discuss procurement strategies and report on progress.
• Monitor price fluctuations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain strong supply chain agreements.
• Collaborate with the accounts department to prevent and resolve invoice discrepancies.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Strong product knowledge relevant to the construction industry.
• A solid background in construction material procurement.
• The ability to accurately take off materials from technical drawings.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Punctuality, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
