Finance Operations Accountant (Insurance Experience)

Location: London

Work arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days on-site)

Salary: 55,000 - 65,000 + bonus

Start Date: As soon as possible

Our client, one of the world's largest international underwriting agencies, managing over 2.5bn in GWP, is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant to join their talented team. This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant to work on a unique blend of financial operations, controllership, and transformation projects.

Role Responsibilities:

• BAU & Transformation: Play a key role in managing BAU activity, whilst supporting the Finance Operations team with process improvements and future growth initiatives
• Month-End Management: Collaborate with Finance heads to track and manage month-end processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and contribute towards the development of the Control Framework.
• Balance Sheet Control: Support onshore and offshore teams to maintain accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Audit: Assist in the preparation and management of financial audits, working closely with finance teams and key stakeholders.
• Financial Oversight: Maintain an internal finance view monitoring each company balance sheet, and identifying and flagging potential financial risks.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Finance Transformation team to address issues, with the aim of ensuring all balances are regularly reconciled and controlled.

Experience:

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
• Prior experience in the insurance industry
• Broad experience within a finance function
• Strong understanding of accounting and insurance principles and practices
• Proven ability in problem-solving and reconciliations
• Highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Organised and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
• Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
• Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
