CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting an Electrical Technician to join the team located in the City of London.
The Electrical Day Technician will be responsible for effective reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
Working as part of a team, they will also be responsible for escorting and overseeing of specialist sub- contractors.
Supporting the full range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks throughout the facility ensuring smooth and effective operational delivery.
The Electrical Technician will be joining our dynamic team supporting a major refurbishment of our client's EMEA headquarters located in Canary Wharf. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a critical phase in the project, witnessing the commissioning process and contributing to the building's mobilization.
You will play a vital role in the transformation of this landmark tower, which will become a state-of-the-art workplace designed for the future. This project emphasizes cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and the highest standards of environmental design, featuring flexible workspaces, collaboration zones, and dedicated wellness areas.
Responsibilities: Pro active approach to faults as they arise with effective resolution
Develop good understanding of Electrical systems from origin to outlet
Positive engagement with all engineering team members
Act on instruction, concisely with effective communication at all times
Backfill and support Critical environment team where required
Completion of tasks in line with SLA's
Support arm of the day engineering supervisor
Take ownership and follow up on all task allocations
Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed
Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
Ensure that Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments (including Dynamics Risk assessments) are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised and comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes
To develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE services staff and clients' staff
Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required
Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times
Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning
Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance tasks as required within across HV and LV distribution systems, associated plant / equipment and HVAC mechanical cooling / heating systems as determined by the CMMS system's work orders
Prepare accurate / timely reports as required
Ensure corrective / repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations
Assist when and where required with project activities
Participate in emergency call out roster providing cover for team member absences, as required
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio buildings their layouts, functions and complexities
Establish and develop trusting relationships with Facilities Managers, Client staff and representatives
Endorse day to day and future compliance to safe working practices, quality standards conformity and best practice methods
Volunteer ideas / initiatives that contribute to the service levels and delivery
Awareness of Change processes and Critical works being undertaken on the premises.
Ensure that correct PPE is being worn and utilised at all times.
Completion of Risk Assessments as required.
Education: A good general education is required
Skills: Self-motivated, with a high level of personal integrity

Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high-pressure environments
Courteous and presentable as the role is both front and back of house, with exposure to the client at all levels
Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment
Strong PC skills, MS Office
Knowledge: Knowledge of Electrical systems
Awareness of Mechanical systems
Awareness of SLA's / KPI's within a critical environment
Knowledge of basic HVAC
Knowledge of CAFM systems
Practical knowledge of H&S requirements inc RA's, Lock out Tag out, Permits to work
Experience: Essential: City & Guilds Electrical Competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
Good building services knowledge
Critical Environment Experience
Good Customer relationship skills
Working knowledge of "Permit to work" systems
Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes
Experience of CMMS and BMS systems
Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a similar organisation
Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities
Desirable: Time served electrical apprenticeship
