Children's Residential Support Worker.

We are looking for a support worker for children and young people aged 8 - 18 years with challenging behaviour and emotional behaviour difficulties.

Support worker responsibilities:

• To support in developing strategies in behaviour management and to take a lead role in managing the young person's challenging behaviour.
• Support young people on recreational activities and demonstrating positive role modelling.
• Supporting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons that the job holder is responsible for or meets and to regularly stay updated in relation to any changes within safeguarding legislation and policy.
• Able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, self-awareness and acceptance of others.
• Support cover in other areas as required.
• To carry out any other appropriate duties requested by the Registered Manager.

Support Worker - You must have :

• Have previous experience of working in a children's residential home.
• Have experience of working with children with challenging behaviours and EBD.
• Understand EBD and how to support children and young people who experience it.
• Good knowledge and understand the importance of safeguarding vulnerable young people.
• Must complete NVQ LEVAL 3.
• Flexiblele working hours.
• Dedicated and committed with a can-do attitude.
• Empathetic people person who is non-judgemental and calm.

Support Worker - The successful candidate must have:

• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Level 3 in Health & Social Care/Children & Young People is great but not essential.
• 6 months experience working in a similar setting.
• Empathetic people person who is non-judgemental and calm.
• Dedicated and committed with a can-do attitude.
• Flexible working hours.
