Front-End Developer

We are forming a new Data Team to deliver a unified, user-friendly interface that consolidates dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs from across the organisation. This "single pane of glass" will serve as the central hub for stakeholders to explore data, monitor performance, and make informed decisions.

As the Front-End Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building this interface from the ground up. You'll work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Engineers, and Business Analysts to understand their outputs and translate them into intuitive, dynamic visual experiences. Your work will directly influence how data is consumed and acted upon across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a unified front-end interface that integrates dashboards, reports, models, and data pipelines into a single, intuitive view
• Ensure the interface adheres to accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.2), enabling inclusive access for all users
• Optimise performance for fast load times, responsive design, and smooth user interactions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data structures and visualisation needs
• Implement dynamic visual components (e.g. charts, filters, drill-downs) using frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, and libraries like D3.js or Chart.js
• Integrate seamlessly with back-end APIs and data services, working closely with Data Engineers to manage data flow and security
• Conduct user testing with support from user researchers, gathering feedback to iterate on design and functionality
• Maintain documentation and reusable component libraries to support scalability and consistency across future data product

Requirements

• Proven experience in front-end development, ideally within data-rich environments
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
• Experience with data visualisation libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, etc.)
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Familiarity with integrating front-end applications with APIs and data services
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Active SC Clearance is required for this role
