Transport Planner (Regional Controller)

Location: Erith, LondonWorking Hours: Monday to FridayContract Type: Full time, permanent

About the Role:

We are looking for a Regional Controller to join a dynamic operations team. In this key role, you will ensure efficient job handling, accurate job allocation, timely invoicing, and effective customer communication. You will act as a liaison between customers, engineers, and internal teams to maintain smooth service operations and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Job Handling:
    • Answer incoming customer calls, book jobs, and allocate tasks to engineers based on skills, location, and availability.
    • Communicate job status updates, including ETAs, delays, and service issues to customers.
    • Make outbound follow-up calls to customers to confirm service quality and gather feedback.
  • Job Completion & Invoicing:
    • Review job details post-completion for accuracy.
    • Prepare jobs for invoicing within agreed SLAs and flag discrepancies to Finance/Management.
  • Customer Feedback & Escalation:
    • Record customer complaints and feedback.
    • Submit issues to management for escalation and resolution, ensuring no direct resolution by the Controller.
  • Customer Voice Pack:
    • Collect customer feedback on service quality, pricing concerns, and other issues.
    • Submit reports to management in a streamlined format for action.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Experience in job scheduling, customer service, or operations coordination.
  • Attention to detail, especially when reviewing job details and invoicing.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with job allocation or similar operational roles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics is a plus.
