German speaking Assistant Accountant

Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, multicultural environment? We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join international team based in London - Westminster (hybrid work). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate group of professionals in the conference and event industry, reporting to team in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile accounts.
• Manage inter-company transactions and handle foreign currency exchanges.
• Execute regular payment cycles, including international transfers.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Independently handle accruals, monthly provisions, and prepayments.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end and annual financial reporting.
• Support the creation and distribution of internal financial reports.
• Assist with various analyses and special projects as needed.

About you:

You are detail-oriented and organised with a strong background in accounting and finance. You excel at managing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment. Your communication skills help you interact well with colleagues and stakeholders. Fluent in German and English, you handle cross-border financial activities smoothly.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers.
• Knowledge of German VAT regulations and reverse charge mechanisms.
• Experience with inter-company transactions and recharges.
• Proficiency in Excel and a willingness to learn new software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
