A well-established Retail organisation is looking to appoint an IT Director to join its Executive Leadership Team, taking full responsibility for technology strategy, delivery and transformation across the UK operation. Based in Milton Keynes, this is a senior leadership position combining strategic direction with operational control.

As IT Director, you will shape and deliver a modern, standardised and business-aligned IT landscape, ensuring systems, applications and infrastructure actively support commercial performance and future growth.

Reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, you will:

• Define and communicate the long-term IT strategy in line with overall business objectives
• Act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring technology enables operational and commercial success
• Lead full lifecycle delivery from demand and business engagement through to implementation and support
• Oversee application management and support models, embedding structured Agile and ITIL-based processes
• Drive improvements in architecture, standardisation and system performance
• Take ownership of IT budgets covering operational spend, change initiatives and project portfolios
• Lead regional system harmonisation initiatives to create efficiencies and simplify the technology landscape
• Manage risk, compliance and security across applications and interfaces
• Build and develop a high-performing IT team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement
• Maintain strong relationships with external technology providers to ensure value-driven service delivery

You'll be supporting a user base of 200+ within a structured, enterprise-style environment in the IT sector, so experience operating at scale is important.

We're looking for a commercially aware technology leader who can operate confidently at Executive Leadership Team level. You will likely bring:

• Significant experience in senior IT leadership or IT consulting roles
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, APIs, IAM and DevOps
• Proven experience developing and delivering IT strategy
• A track record of leading complex transformation or change programmes
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Solid understanding of IT Service Management and vendor governance
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making

Strategic thinking, strong communication skills and the ability to balance operational detail with long-term vision are key.
