Location: North LondonContract: Locum contact for at least 3 months, term-time onlyWorking hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 am to 4:30 pm (some flexibility)Pay: £200 - £250 per day depending on the experience Start: Immediate, subject to recruitment checksPay rate: £210 - £250 per day (depending on the experience)About the companyThe school serves children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, complex medical needs, and learning disabilities. There are currently 125 pupils aged 9 to 19.Since 2012, the school has been consistently rated Outstanding by Ofsted in all areas. They have a collaborative team of SEN teachers and teaching assistants who are committed to safeguarding and enabling every pupil to thrive.We are seeking a compassionate Locum Nurse to join the team on a temporary basis while the school recruits for a permanent member of staff. A temp-to-perm opportunity may be available.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver day-to-day clinical care and first aid to pupils and staff, escalating as needed.Administer prescribed medications and treatments.Implement existing Individual Healthcare Plans.Undertake clinical procedures (e.g., enteral feeding/PEG, tracheostomy care, suctioning, epilepsy/diabetes management). Ensure medicine management compliance.Promote a culture of dignity, inclusion, and positive behaviour support.Ensure all nursing contributions to EHCP assessments, plans, and annual reviews are completed accurately and on time.What you must have Registered Nurse (RN Child/RSCN, RN Adult, or RNLD) with current NMC PIN.Evidence of right to work in the UK - no sponsorshipsIdeally experience with children/young people, in SEN, community, school nursing, paediatrics, or learning disability settings.Confident with emergency response, first aid, and escalation.Competence in at least some of: medication administration in schools, enteral feeding, seizure management, diabetes care, catheterisation, anaphylaxis management. Training might potentially be provided.A clear, calm communicator able to build trust with pupils.Strong documentation and organisational skillsKnowledge of EHCP processes and attendance/welfare frameworks is desirable.Additional InformationThere is free onsite parking and good transport links.
