As an Occupational Hygienist, you will report to the Health & Safety Manager and work within our Health and Safety team based in any of our Eastern, London, or Southern offices. This can include Bury St Edmunds, Borehamwood, Maidstone, Crawley, Ipswich or central London.
You will be a permanent employee with a competitive salary of 61,723 and a bonus of 3%. After a six-month probationary period, you can enjoy blended working with three days in the office and two days remote.
In this role, you will provide competent occupational health and safety advice to business advisors, managers, staff, contractors, and the public. You will develop a comprehensive occupational hygiene program for UK Power Networks, focusing on minimizing risks associated with chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards. Your responsibilities will include monitoring changes in legislation, creating and implementing new occupational hygiene procedures, conducting evaluations of roles and tasks, and facilitating assessments of tools, equipment, and PPE. You will also participate in compliance audits, develop health and safety training, and support incident investigations.

To be successful in this role, you should hold the National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate or be willing to work towards it, have a British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) Certificate of Operational Competence, and be a member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH). You should have experience in active monitoring, assessments, safety inspections, or audits, and possess strong stakeholder management skills. A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel across UKPN sites are also required.
