Day-to-day of the role: - Strategic Sourcing:
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Develop category management strategies for key spend areas, including cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead supplier selection process through RFPs, negotiations, and contract management.
- Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and value improvement.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring ongoing performance and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with suppliers on innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and address any issues promptly.
- Procurement Strategy Development:
- Define and implement a long-term procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Develop procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with sourcing and supplier relationships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across different departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Communicate procurement strategy and goals to key decision-makers.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory management and delivery timelines.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
- Generate reports on procurement performance, including cost savings achieved and supplier compliance.
- Utilize data analytics tools to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Deep understanding of market dynamics and supplier landscape (ideally within medical or healthcare sectors)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement procurement strategies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with procurement systems and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
