GSL Education are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in Maidstone to work with students with a range of special educational needs. This role offers the chance to support students in their learning and development, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be crucial in supporting students with Special Educational Needs. As a valued member of the school community, you will provide tailored assistance, ensuring students receive the guidance they need to excel academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

• Support students with SEN needs in their learning and personal development.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised learning plans (ILPs).
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students achieve their full potential.
• Foster a structured and nurturing learning environment tailored to student needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour management and social engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to adapt learning strategies.
• Support students with daily routines, emotional regulation, and communication skills.

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or specialist setting.
• A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
• Patience, resilience, and a caring nature to support students unique learning journeys.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs.
• A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
