Are you a skilled hairdresser with a passion for supporting young people?
We are looking for a School Hairdresser to join a SEMH school, delivering bespoke interventions for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a unique opportunity to use your hairdressing skills to build trust, boost confidence, and create a safe space for students who need additional support with behaviour and engagement.
What you'll do:
- Provide hair cutting and basic grooming sessions in a safe, structured environment
- Use 1:1 and small group sessions as an intervention to support behaviour and emotional regulation
- Build strong relationships to promote confidence, self-esteem, and positive choices
- Support students with behaviour, helping them re-engage with learning
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to monitor progress
- Act as a positive role model within the school
What we're looking for:
- Qualified hairdresser (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Experience working with young people or transferable skills (youth work, mentoring, etc.)
- Confident managing behaviour and building rapport
- Patient, calm, and resilient approach
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
