This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and dynamic Governing Board and genuinely have an impact on the future success of Newham College and its students. You will support the development and influence the direction of the College at a time of great momentum as we seek grow the organisation and aspire to provide outstanding education and training opportunities for young people and adults.
The work of a Member of the Corporation Board (Governor) in setting the strategic direction and providing leadership is central to the success of the College. By becoming a Governor, you will be joining a high performing board and successful college. This is your opportunity to steer provision that benefits the students, the local community and employers directly. Being a Governor is hugely rewarding and is an opportunity to make a real difference to the communities we serve.
The College seeks to engage people with a passion for vocational education and a drive for ambition to build on continued success for the benefit of all students, staff and the local community. This may be your first non-executive position, but you must be able to demonstrate a track record of strategic leadership in one of the following areas:
Teaching & Learning
Digital transformation and AI
Finance & Accounting
Property & Capital Projects
Most importantly, you should demonstrate a deep commitment to the College's mission, a strong alignment with the College's purpose, and prior experience collaborating with boards and executive teams. Your leadership background should enable you to contribute both inquiry and support to help us achieve the strategy of Newham College.
