Outstanding post-16 College located in the London Borough of Lewisham is seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering and Hospitality Lecturer to join their college on a contractual basis. This teaching position would be to start immediately!

The ideal Catering and Hospitality Lecturer will have a strong background in catering and hospitality, with specific skills in teaching patisserie. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Levels 1, 2, and 3 courses in a classroom setting.

In this Monday to Friday position, you will be able to plan, deliver and teach both practical and theoretical lessons in an engaging way.

In this full-time lecturing position, you will be expected

  • Experience working as a Lecturer in Catering and Hospitality
  • Must be able to teach level 1, 2 and 3 Hospitality and Catering and experience in a College Setting with larger groups.
  • In date enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one ASAP
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in catering and hospitality, with a focus on patisserie.
  • Develop and implement course materials and assessments that meet curriculum requirements and learning objectives.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to ensure the relevance and quality of the curriculum.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • SENA relevant teaching qualification (e.g, PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • Patisserie qualification and extensive experience in the patisserie field.
  • IQA (Internal Quality Assurer) qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching catering and hospitality at Levels 1, 2, and 3.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
