This role Business Director - Bumble We manage Bumble for the EMEA regions based out of our UK team, and additionally oversee 4 regional hubs (LATAM, India, ANZ, US). Our agency focus is on the strategy, planning and implementation of upper funnel, brand building campaigns, designed to raise awareness and drive consideration of the brand in-market, flexing according to market stage and local market nuances. Bumble is one of the biggest and most exciting accounts within the agency right now and this BD role is at the epicentre, providing a unique and exciting opportunity to not only be part of global/centrally led initiatives but also be a key player in driving local innovative market campaigns.
Working into both Central and Local team requires a multitude of processes and means that multiple campaigns can be briefed into the team at any one time, therefore, the focus of the BD role on Bumble will be on ensuring the smooth running of the team. Reporting into the BD are three accomplished Account Directors who are responsible for the day to day running of key markets, supported by a group of Account Managers and Account Executives. They look for support on identifying ways to streamline workflows, produce clear and well supported media recommendations, and identifying ways to improve the overall work output. The team has a brilliant culture of which this role is essential in maintaining and nurturing.
Additionally, you will support the Client Partner in the development and roll out of account guidelines and processes to ensure that the account runs smoothly and work closely together to ensure plans move efficiently from planning into activation stage, providing a holistic view on how campaigns are to be activated across multiple markets.
Overall, we are looking for someone who has a restlessness to do great work, push the boundaries on briefs, are passionate about nurturing teams and being a key player in the agencies exciting growth journey.
International experience is a plus but not a requirement if you are keen to learn.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
Partner & Media Management:
- Key contact for central clients, owning key projects and leading weekly client calls
- Taking local briefs alongside the Planners and supporting team on response to briefs; strong cross media understanding essential
- Visible presence on local client calls, able to address day to day priorities and projects
- Manage efficient running of client team output,
- Ensures wider activation teams are delivering to brief
- Well informed on current and future trends, in technology and media - and able to hold insightful discussions with clients
- Striving to find ways to surprise and delight your clients
- Drive award entries, delivering award winning work and writing up the entries
Commercial: - Deliver budget and income goals against clients, with view toward organic growth
- Provide timely and accurate billings projections for the Client Partner / Managing Partner
- Checking all systems are updated and POs and Finance queries are addressed by the team in a timely manner
- Makes things happen, with a fastidious attention to detail - an organised operator
- Identifies and helps the teams to sell in any additional products and services
- Understands Havas' products and services and how they can help deliver back against our client's challenges
- Supports and leads on new business pitches
People Management: - Working as a collaborative positive team player across Havas, actively supporting each other and sharing learnings and delivering on our client's needs.
- Ensuring the appraisal process is kept to for direct reports, taking ownership of your own skills development with full commitment and attendance to all training and development sessions (and media owner sessions).
- Working closely with the Account Directors on the training and development needs of junior team, particularly Media Executives when on rotation in the BU
- Demonstration of strong upward management skills to ensure that all senior leaders are continually aware of opportunities and risks for clients, the business and people
- Lead by example; as a senior member of the agency your behaviour sets the tone for the rest of the team - encourage teams to attend agency seminars and events plus support internal initiatives
