We're currently recruiting a Public Sector Specialist on a full time, permanent basis.

We are flexible on the location of this role and will consider candidates based in any of our global locations.

This role is accountable for developing and implementing ACCA's public sector approach. The role holder brings their extensive public sector experience, expertise and network to facilitate the approach's aim of developing the public sector profession the world needs. They lead the organisation as the central public sector expert across a range of business-critical activities to support the realisation of ACCA's strategy.

The Public Sector Specialist will be a prominent internal and external face of ACCA's public sector work and will work closely with internal teams to develop relevant areas of ACCA's plans, propositions and activities to support our public sector ambitions.

The Job

Reporting to the Head of Employee Partnerships, Sectors & Member Communities, on a day to day basis you'll be involved in the following:

Developing and recommending ACCA's public sector approach in order to optimise opportunities and build ACCA's global profile and reputation
Developing a clear understanding of the varied needs and potential in the global public sector market and mobilises ACCA resources to meet those needs
Leading the development of individual market and departmental public sector plans with all internal stakeholders
Acting as ACCA's internal and external representative for the public sector, developing and managing relationships with key senior level external contacts
Providing public sector expertise and leads on regional and global public sector initiatives as required to support Relationships teams to develop and implement their public sector plans
Builds an extensive network of senior level contacts internally and externally to support and enable the implementation and embedding of the public sector approach
Leads the implementation of ACCA's public sector approach and the realisation of associated benefits across the business
Identifies and escalates risks, issues and blockages to the delivery of the approach and develops plans to address and/or overcome them
Leads and shares reviews of performance in specific markets with internal stakeholders to support improvement
Oversees the global public sector budget, collaborating with colleagues to maximise the value of available resources

The Person

We're looking for someone with:

Strong technical knowledge of global public sector accounting and finance
Significant public sector experience and network with a deep understanding of the issues facing public sector organisations around the world
A strong understanding of ACCA's strategy, products and operations globally
Strong track record of building and leading global, multi-level relationships with outstanding networking, influencing and negotiation skills
Substantial experience representing an organisation externally with the ability to speak with confidence on a wide range of areas
Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with the ability to work on their own initiative to deliver a complex and varied workload to strict deadlines
Substantial experience of delivering successful initiatives and relationships cross-functionally across a range of global markets
