HR Manager

Salary: £51,080 - £56,383
My client has an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and personable HR Manager to join their team on a one-year fixed term contract. Working in a busy and friendly office, you will play a lead role in employee relations (ER) and deliver a high-quality HR service across the school.
This varied role includes managing employee relations, supporting HR administration, assisting with recruitment, and advising staff on policies and procedures.
You will be a highly organized and approachable individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure while using your own initiative. Ideally, candidates will have experience in HR within a school environment.
Main Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies in line with employment law and best practices.
- Advise on and manage employee relations cases, including restructuring, disciplinary issues, grievances, sickness absence, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and employment law requirements.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to manage payroll changes, pay awards, and pension queries.
- Provide information to staff on benefits, Cycle to Work, and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Oversee staff training and professional development.
- Manage probation, appraisals, and the school s online training platform.
- Attend staff committees, including Health & Safety and line manager meetings.
- Provide HR support to the school s enterprise functions and international teams.
- Support the HR & Recruitment Manager during busy recruitment periods.
The ideal candidate: - Educated to at least O Level standard or equivalent with GCSE/O Level English & Maths grade C or above.
- CIPD Level 5 or above (desirable).
- Experience in HR within a school environment.
- Proven experience in HR management and employee relations case work.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, policy, and procedure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
