We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Officer to ensure our office estate is safe, secure, compliant and well maintained. You will help create a clean, welcoming and productive working environment for colleagues, customers and visitors, while ensuring all statutory, lease, and compliance obligations are met.
This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional service, managing facilities operations efficiently, and ensuring value for money across all expenditure.
Location: Penge, SE20
Contract: 3 months initially
Payrate: £16.12 per hour PAYE
Working mode: Full time office based
Key responsibilities- Deliver excellent customer service to colleagues, customers and visitors at all times
- Ensure sites are safe, secure and compliant, including routine health and safety checks, fire alarms, evacuation drills and audits
- Track and manage site budgets, raise purchase orders and process invoices
- Act as first point of contact for site enquiries, providing a professional "one stop shop" service
- Manage reception, access control, ID passes, visitor booking and deliveries
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers, ensuring issues are resolved to a satisfactory standard
- Maintain building logbooks, compliance trackers, shared drive documentation and site mailboxes
- Manage office presentation, signage, meeting rooms, kitchens, catering supplies, stationery and printers
- Monitor and report building maintenance issues and follow through to completion
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and manage regular site meetings
- Support sustainability, environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives
- Respond to out-of-hours incidents when required and deputise for senior facilities colleagues as needed
About youYou will have:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine service-led approach
- Confidence dealing with a wide range of stakeholders in a professional and diplomatic manner
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of video-conferencing and audio-visual equipment
- A methodical, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Previous facilities management experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate
