Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and group support for KS1 pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing and adapting learning materials to suit individual pupil needs.
  • Foster a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where all children feel valued.
  • Support pupils' emotional, social, and academic development, building their confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes for the children.

What We're Looking for in an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary or KS1 setting.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or SEN-specific training) are desirable but not essential.
