Role: Financial Crime Project Manager

Location: Hybrid

Contract Type: 12 Month Contract

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000

Purpose Of Role

We are assisting a leading financial services organisation in the search for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex Financial Crime projects. The successful candidate will deliver end-to-end initiatives across AML, Sanctions, Fraud, and Bribery & Corruption, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business strategy. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to drive projects that deliver measurable business and compliance outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of complex, cross-functional Financial Crime projects
  • Define project objectives, scope, success criteria, and benefits
  • Manage teams, third-party suppliers, and diverse stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks; escalate as needed
  • Apply governance, reporting, and assurance best practices
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to delivery teams
  • Influence stakeholders and secure alignment on project outcomes
  • Ensure smooth transition of projects into business-as-usual operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management frameworks

Day-To-Day

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Facilitate alignment across business, technology, and regulatory teams
  • Track project progress and escalate blockers or risks promptly
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to provide updates and decision support
  • Solve complex issues, remove friction points, and maintain focus on outcomes
  • Ensure delivery remains compliant with Financial Crime regulations

Experience

  • Extensive experience delivering complex projects within regulated financial services
  • Proven background in Financial Crime initiatives, including AML, Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption, and Fraud
  • Experience across multiple project delivery methods (Agile, Waterfall) and familiarity with tools such as JIRA or Confluence
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and third-party suppliers
  • Strong exposure to large-scale operations, including customer contact centres
  • Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders at senior and board level
