Tax Accountant (R&D TAX Specialist)

Location: Central London (Hybrid)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Performance Based Bonus

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our client's growing team. This role combines tax expertise with assisting in innovative systems development, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both client services and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Accounting & Advisory:
  • Prepare and file corporation tax returns with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization strategies.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation and HMRC guidelines.
• R&D Tax Credit Management:
  • Handle the tax perspective of R&D claims, including proofing and processing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline R&D claim workflows.
• Software & Systems Development:
  • Contribute to the design and refinement of tax-related software and systems.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure tools align with tax compliance standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

• ATT or CTA qualification (additional qualifications are a bonus).
• Strong background in corporation tax, management accounting and tax accounting.
• Previous experience in R&D tax credits preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Tech-savvy, with experience in software or systems development preferred.
