Join an esteemed primary school, known for its supportive and inclusive atmosphere, where high-quality education and special educational needs (SEN) support are our priorities. We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate SEND Primary Teaching Assistant to enhance our dedicated team.

About the Role:

As a SEND Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of personalized and engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with various SEN, including ASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN. This role involves close collaboration with a team of caring professionals to cultivate a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualised Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Support the creation of engaging and differentiated lesson plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and specialist SEN professionals to optimize the learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and assist in providing constructive feedback to parents/guardians.
  • Maintain accurate and current student records.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (essential).
  • Previous experience working with children who have SEND (desirable).
  • Familiarity with ASD and other SEN conditions like MLD, SLD, and SLCN (desirable).
  • Ability to prepare and teach effective interventions tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Professional demeanour at all times.
  • Enthusiastic and friendly approach, with excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A passionate commitment to supporting students with SEN to achieve their full potential.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a dynamic team.
