Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Configuration Engineer you will support the Configuration Manager of various projects, taking responsibility for the product definition and/or Configuration Management of parts of minor or major projects.
You will carry out Engineering Change Management Activities including:
- Reviewing documentation for completion and accuracy
- Generating part numbers/Drawing numbers
- Structuring Bills of Material
- Interrogating engineering drawings and implementing the Engineering Changes.
Responsibilities not limited to:
- Assist with the management of product configurations across multiple stages, from design through to service.
- Ensure engineering changes are accurately reflected in design structures using PLM tools.
- Manage the correct design definitions for multiple product variants within projects.
- Review engineering changes to ensure alignment with business processes and project approvals.
- Prepare and update Configuration Management documentation for review periods.
- Support the Configuration Manager with Supplier Audits generating agendas and reports, chasing non-conformities and updating the audit tracker.
- Coordinate Configuration Meetings, providing data and support to the Configuration Manager and project team.
- Maintain control over project design definitions during development, production, and in-service phases.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide support in daily operations.
- Advise on and help implement Engineering Change methodologies throughout the product lifecycle.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong team player with a proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach.
- In-depth understanding of Configuration Management principles and their application in a demanding engineering environment.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic) across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to build rapport with stakeholders and promote the Configuration Management function.
- Excellent organizational and workload management skills, able to prioritize and deliver on time.
- Awareness of internal and external customer requirements and industry standards.
- High IT literacy, particularly with PLM tools such as Windchill.
- Experience in supporting the engineering change process and ensuring it aligns with the project's goals.
