We are recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a Leighton Buzzard company, who are a growing, thriving and logistics market leader. Please note, this role is a temporary to permanent position, and our client is seeking someone who is available for an immediate start. For this role, previous team leader or senior experience is essential.
Location: Leighton Buzzard.
Working Hours: 07:00am - 18:00, Sunday to Wednesday.
Start Date: ASAP.
Contract Type: Temporary to permanent position.
Overview:
- As the Warehouse Team Leader, you will support the management team by ensuring all daily operations within the warehouse department function. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of warehouse staff, overseeing their duties, performance, and ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and within agreed KPI's.
Duties:
- Monitor, coordinate & supervisor the warehouse staff, including picking, packing, shipping, goods in, goods out and containers.
- Handle rotas, holiday requests, and agency staff.
- Train and develop new starters and team members on company procedures, safety protocols, and business policies.
- Ensure everyone adheres compliance and healthy & safety to maintain quality control and accuracy.
- Correspond with internal departments, including sales, customer service & HR to ensure smooth operations and order fulfilment.
- Adhering to stringent client SLA's, KPI's and targets.
- Supporting with inventory/stock management and audits.
- Handling any issues or conflicts that arise within the team and address performance concerns.
- Responsible for data reporting, and updating senior management teams.
- When required, getting involved with all warehouse duties including: picking, packing, shipping, goods in, goods out, containers and operating FLT (if qualified).
- Working overtime, when required, to ensure order fulfilment.
Skills Required:
- Previous team leader or senior experience is required - essential.
- Core background within warehousing or logistics - essential.
- Ability to work to targets, deadlines, KPI's and SLA's.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Confident in managing people.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems, and confident with data management/reporting.
- FLT licences (Reach) - Preferred.
- Ability to work Sunday to Wednesday, and overtime when needed.
- Happy with a temp to perm contract.
