Junior Product Manager

Fresh People are currently looking to recruit a Junior Product Manager for our client, a leading Fresh Produce business based in Teynham. This is a permanent role working full-time between Tuesday and Saturday or Sunday to Thursday.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have experience in fresh produce with a strong understanding of quality control and supplier management. You will play a key role in managing product quality, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring efficient stock management across multiple categories. This role requires close collaboration with technical, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain high product standards and drive continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end management of allocated product categories
• Work closely with the technical and IT teams to identify quality issues and areas for improvement.
• Assist in managing product lifecycles, including testing new varieties and packaging options.
• Engage with customer and supplier visits to ensure quality expectations are met.
• Provide detailed product reports and communicate findings to the Technical Manager.
• Participate in key decision-making meetings, including daily production meetings, weekly quality reviews, and senior leadership discussions.
• Monitor stock quality, shelf life, and waste levels, ensuring high product standards are maintained.
• Support the procurement team with technical insights and quality recommendations.
• Ensure accurate product forecasting and maintain close communication with growers and suppliers.
• Work with logistics and operations teams to maintain stock efficiency and reduce waste.
• Assist in supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to procurement, sales, and account management teams.
