SEND Teacher (ASD & ADHD Unit)

Location: Greenwich

Contract: Full-time, Permanent/Temporary

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role:

As a SEND Teacher in our specialist ASD unit, you will be responsible for delivering tailored education to students with Autism and ADHD. The unit provides a supportive, structured, and therapeutic environment where every child's individual needs are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with ASD and ADHD.

  • Supporting students in developing both academic and social skills, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Managing behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and personalised strategies.
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and teaching assistants, to ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Liaising with parents/carers and other professionals to provide consistent communication and progress updates.
  • Maintaining accurate records of students' progress and participating in regular review meetings.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant SEND qualifications.
  • Proven experience working with students with ASD and/or ADHD in an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of working with neurodiverse students.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with students, staff, and families effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each student.
  • Experience in using structured teaching methods such as TEACCH, PECS, or other visual communication strategies (preferred but not essential).
  • Creativity in delivering lessons that engage students with varying abilities and learning styles.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a dedicated, specialist team making a real impact on the lives of young people with Autism and ADHD.
  • Access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A supportive working environment that values the wellbeing of both staff and students.
  • Opportunities to work closely with other specialists, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
  • Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • References covering the last two years.

If you are a compassionate, driven SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Autism and ADHD, we'd love to hear from you!
