The Opportunity

As a Geography Graduate, you will join a thriving Humanities department and work alongside experienced teachers to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge required for a successful teaching career.

This role offers significantly more responsibility than a traditional Teaching Assistant position, providing a genuine introduction to classroom teaching and school life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Supporting students' academic progress through targeted interventions

• Leading small-group and one-to-one learning sessions

• Assisting with lesson preparation, marking and assessment

• Developing classroom management and behaviour strategies

• Supporting fieldwork, enrichment activities and wider Humanities events

• Working closely with experienced teachers and school leaders to develop your practice

Who We Are Looking For

• Are on track to achieve, or have achieved, a 2:1 degree or above in Geography or a closely related subject

• Have a genuine passion for Geography and education

• Are considering teacher training in the future

• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrate professionalism, resilience and a willingness to learn

• Can inspire young people and act as a positive role model

Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential.
