Job Title: Principal Engineer -Electrical (Combat Systems)

Salary: £45,628+ depending onexperience

Whatyou'll bedoing:
  • Developing the Combat SystemElectrical Architecture working in conjunction with the Whole BoatElectrical team to deliver a viable design including high integritycapability
  • Representing theCombat System team at the relevant working groups to support theplatform and Combat System designmaturity Leading theintegration strategy in conjunction with the CS Build team with theplatform design teams by developing strategies for routed systemsincluding cabling
  • Deliveringtechnical input and engineering solutions in support of build andintegration activities, defect resolution and changemanagement
  • Coordinating theCombat Systems sub-system teams to develop a suitable electricalsystem architecture
  • RepresentingCombat Systems at the Electrical and Cooling WorkingGroups
  • Attending MajorArea reviews to ensure Combat Systems is maintaining a viabledesign within theplatform
Yourskills andexperiences:

Essential
  • BEng (Hons) / MEng orequivalent
  • CEng (or be ableto satisfy requirements forCEng) Technical reportwriting skills
  • Demonstrableexperience of engineeringlifecycle
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience indefence standards whilst not essential would be anadvantage
  • Experience ofsubmarine electrical systems and the application of scenarios ishighly desirable

TheCombat Systemsteam:

The Principal Engineer - Electrical (Combat Systems)shall provide support to the Engineering Manager and/or externalspecialists during development, analysis, integration andverification of Combat System and its sub-systems. The PrincipalEngineer - Electrical Engineering (Combat Systems) primary role isto develop the electrical system architecture for the Combat Systemand work with the WB Electrical teams to deliver a suitable systemdesign. The Principal Engineer shall act as the CS lead for allelectrical aspects of the Combat System level design. The Principal Engineer shallbe responsible for developing plans and scheduling projectactivities to meet the maturity targets of the programme whilemanaging the resolution of any emergentissues.
