K-People Europe is a recruitment consultancy specialized in Korean speaking jobs with a dedicated Korean recruitment consultant working in London since 2007.
Our client, a reputable international bank located in the heart of City of London, is looking for a Korean speaking Junior Banker - Operations who will maintain effective support for the Traders, executing all tasks pertaining to the verification of transactions in a timely and accurate basis and providing additional support to Derivative clients.
Key Responsibilities
(1) FX/MM
- Process all new transactions in KINS including additional ad-hoc entries
- On all new transactions check that we receive an incoming confirmation checking data to
the applicable ticket and our confirmation prior to attachment and filing
- Prepare Foreign Exchange, Money Market, ECP and CD confirmations for checking prior to
release.
- The reporting ECP and CD transactions to their respective settlement agents ensuring that
a relevant ISIN code is obtained and written on the ticket
- Filing and scanning of all transactions, entries and reports in an accurate and efficient
manner
- Obtain Trading staff authorisation on Brokerage invoices received prior to preparation of
entries for payment and checking.
(2) Derivatives/Futures
- Process all new transactions in KINS including the accurate registration of new Futures
contracts in KINS
- Print the Futures statement and reconcile against transactions dealt and positions held
using information from KINS.Also calculate and confirm with the daily margin figure
producing the relevant entry for processing in KINS - as and when
- Process the Rate Fixing program in Murex including printing the relevant report, and then
the corresponding Fixings also to be processed in KINS with a final report printed.
- The timely and accurate checking of inbound Reset Notices from clients for new rate
fixings in Interest Rate and Currency Swap transactions ensuring that a notice is received
from our alternative client's that is then checked to the database prior saving in the
shared drive
- Scanning of all transactions and entries pertaining to Derivative trading by the bank in an accurate and efficient manner
- At the end of day once all transactions have been registered and you can see that the
valuation program has been run in Murex and interfaced to KINS, run the Interface
Evaluation program in KINS for the registration of Foreign Exchange and Swap valuations
from Murex.
- Provide clients with Interest Rate and Currency Swap Valuations from KINS as required
- The timely and accurate checking and saving of Reset Notices from KINS for clients for
new rate fixings in Interest Rate and Currency Swap transactions within 24 hours of fixing.
Once checked, distribution to the client
- The timely and accurate production of Interest Rate and Currency Swap confirmations for
clients within 24 hours of trading. Once checked, distribution to the client ensuring that a
signed confirmation is received back or a confirmation is received from our alternative
clients
- Save the data received relating to LCH cleared transactions
- Manage the Derivatives EMAIL Box
(3) General
- Process in a timely and accurate manner the settlement accounting in KINS for all
products including Securities maturity.
- Print payment entries input to KINS by the Administration department for checking
purposes prior to release
- To maintain effective communication channels with traders, clients and colleagues
- To provide cover, when required, for other staff members within the Operations team.
First thing in the morning, save a copy of the Murex trade summary report in the audit
check file for previous days' tickets
Training Provided
(1) All training is given within the team using their already vast skills knowledge
(2) New staffs are required to learn how to process and be prepared to participate in all stages of the work flow as part of training and also be able to cover wherever required at all levels.
(3) The client is able to provide new candidates with an excellent learning curve due to their variety of products and processes handled. Ideal position for someone wishing to gain their first step into a banking environment or expand on knowledge already gained.
Requirements
(1) Must be fluent in both Korean & English
(2) Must have relevant experience in banking/finance/accounting OR degree in finance/banking/accounting/management if fresh graduate
(3) Attention to detail with excellent numerical skills
(4) Must have excellent MS Excel skills & any experience with Euroclear desirable
(5) Strong communication and analytical skills
(6) Planning and time-management abilities, with capacity to prioritise and deliver as necessary.
Conditions
(1) Location: City of London (Bank area)
(2) Working hours: 8:30am 4:30pm
(3) Annual leave: 23 working days in the first full calendar year and thereafter increased by one day per year into maximum of 28 working days (excluding 8 Bank/Public Holidays)
(4) Basic salary: depending on experience
