Are you passionate about helping children, young people and families access the support they need?

We're looking for an experienced Programme Coordinator & Family Engagement Lead to help deliver two innovative mental health programmes across East London, supporting participant engagement, building partnerships and ensuring young people can access high-quality, culturally responsive support.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to support the delivery of two funded Children and Young People's Mental Health programmes across Newham, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

As Programme Coordinator & Family Engagement Lead, you will act as a central point of contact for young people, families, schools and referral partners. You will play a key role in participant recruitment, family engagement, partnership development, programme coordination and monitoring, helping to ensure children, young people and families can access support quickly, safely and effectively.

You will be joining the organisation at an exciting stage of growth and will have the opportunity to help shape innovative programmes designed to improve outcomes for communities who are often underserved by traditional services.

The Programmes

CYPMH Inequalities

A creative wellbeing programme for Black autistic boys aged 8 16 designed to improve emotional wellbeing, confidence, communication and belonging through culturally responsive and neurodiversity-affirming creative practice.

CYPMH Admissions Avoidance & Alternatives to Admission

A culturally responsive arts therapy programme supporting young people aged experiencing emerging psychosis, psychosis-like symptoms or severe emotional distress through early intervention and community-based support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinating participant recruitment, referrals and onboarding.
• Acting as a key point of contact for young people, families and referral partners.
• Supporting attendance, engagement and retention.
• Building relationships with schools, CAMHS, EIP services, community organisations and other stakeholders.
• Coordinating programme logistics, communications and participant records.
• Supporting monitoring, evaluation and funder reporting requirements.
• Helping ensure programme outputs, outcomes and contractual requirements are achieved.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Experience within mental health, SEND, youth services, education, family support or community engagement.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and partners.
• A commitment to improving access to support for underserved communities.

Contract Information

• Freelance Fixed-Term Contract
• £225 per day
• 38 contracted days (£8,550 contract value).
• July 2026 March 2027
• Flexible working arrangements
