Project Worker - Osborne Grove Assessment Centre

Location: Osborne Grove, LondonHours: Early and late shifts (8:00am - 4:30pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm), including weekends. No overnight shifts.Contract: Full-time, rolling rota with regular long weekends off (3-4 days).

About the Service:Osborne Grove Assessment Centre provides 37 beds of off-street accommodation for individuals experiencing homelessness, including those with complex needs. The service offers short-term stays of up to 12 weeks, during which each resident is supported to move on to suitable, longer-term accommodation.

The Role:As a Project Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting service users through their assessment and resettlement journey. You will work closely with each individual to create tailored support and safety plans, ensuring their welfare and promoting positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments to identify appropriate move-on options within a 12-week timeframe.

  • Develop and regularly review safety plans with service users, ensuring these reflect changing needs or circumstances.

  • Support service users to obtain valid identification and access all benefits for which they are eligible.

  • Employ a harm reduction approach in working with individuals who may have health or substance use challenges.

  • Provide practical and emotional support to rough sleepers with complex needs, encouraging engagement with relevant services.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to promote sustainable housing solutions.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team.

People with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) are eligible to access bedspaces at Osborne Grove, and the team will ensure equitable support and advice are provided to all.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within a homelessness or supported housing setting.

  • Understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work on a rota basis, including weekends.

  • A compassionate, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
